CRUISE TERMINAL

BEFORE YOUR CRUISE

GET TO SOUTHAMPTON
a day or two BEFORE

Travelling to Southampton for a cruise? Come down the day before, get a good night’s sleep and take the stress out of getting to the ship on time.

Settle Southampton offers comfortable and affordable pre-cruise accommodation in Southampton, within easy reach of all five cruise terminals. With simple self check-in and a choice of rooms, studios and a two-bedroom apartment, it’s an easy way to stay near Southampton cruise terminal without paying for unnecessary hotel extras.

BEFORE YOUR CRUISE

GET TO SOUTHAMPTON THE DAY BEFORE

If you’re travelling any distance to Southampton, staying the night before your cruise makes a lot of sense. It means no early start, no worrying about motorway traffic and no watching the clock if your train is running late.

Get here the day before, check yourself in and drop the cases. You can head into Southampton for something to eat, pick up any last-minute bits you’ve forgotten or simply put your feet up and get a good night’s sleep.

Then, in the morning, you’ve only got the short journey to the port left. It’s a much easier way to start a holiday.

SOUTHAMPTON CRUISE PORT

FIVE TERMINALS. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIGHT ONE.

Southampton has five cruise terminals, spread across the Eastern and Western Docks. City, Horizon and Mayflower are in the Western Docks, while Ocean and Queen Elizabeth II are in the Eastern Docks.

Which terminal you need depends on your ship and sailing, so check your cruise documents before you leave. Southampton Port is big, and heading to the wrong side with a couple of suitcases isn’t much fun.

Your cruise line should tell you exactly where you need to go. It’s worth checking again shortly before you sail, particularly if you booked your cruise a long time ago.

STAYING AT SETTLE

AROUND 10 MINUTES FROM SOUTHAMPTON CRUISE PORT

Settle Southampton is at 22 Howard Road, around 2 miles from Southampton Cruise Port and approximately 10 minutes by car or taxi, depending on your terminal and traffic. That means you can get to Southampton the day before, get a good night’s sleep and have only a short journey to the ship in the morning.

We’ve got different options depending on how you’re travelling. If you simply need somewhere comfortable to sleep, choose one of our rooms. If you’d like a little more independence, our studios have self-catering facilities. And if you’re travelling with family or friends, our two-bedroom apartment gives everyone a bit more space.

Self check-in means you don’t need to plan your journey around a reception desk either. We’ll send you everything you need before you arrive, so a late train or a bit of traffic doesn’t become another thing to worry about.

COMING BY TRAIN?

Southampton Central is the main railway station for the city and the closest station to Southampton Cruise Port. There are direct services from London Waterloo and good connections from across the country, so coming by train is a straightforward option if you’d rather leave the car at home.

Staying the night before means you don’t need to try and time your train perfectly with embarkation. Arrive in Southampton, get checked in and leave the final journey to the ship until the following morning.

Being within easy reach of the hospital means:

  • Shorter travel times
  • Less stress around appointments
  • A comfortable place to return to at the end of the day

For longer stays, having access to a kitchenette and a more private space can make a difficult situation feel more manageable.

COMING BY CAR?

Southampton is the UK’s leading cruise port, with thousands of Southampton is easily reached from the M3 and M27, with the docks well signposted as you approach the city.

If you’re leaving your car in Southampton while you’re away, arrange your cruise parking before you travel. There are several parking options serving the port, and the right one will depend on your cruise line and terminal.

Book it before you leave and that’s one less thing to sort out when you arrive

  • Easy access to cruise terminals
  • Flexible self check-in for late arrivals
  • A simple, comfortable place to stay before setting off

Many guests choose to stay the night before their cruise to avoid early travel, and again after returning to break up the journey home.
