Every September, the Southampton International Boat Show takes over Mayflower Park and the surrounding waterfront.
It’s one of the biggest marine events in the UK, bringing boats, marine brands, watersports, demonstrations, entertainment and thousands of visitors to Southampton.
You don’t need to be buying a boat to enjoy it either.
There’s plenty to see around the marina, activities on the water and food and drink throughout the show, making it an easy event to turn into a full day or weekend in Southampton.

MORE THAN JUST BOATS
You don’t need to be in the market for a new yacht to enjoy the Boat Show.
There are more than 500 watercraft expected in 2026, alongside hundreds of marine brands covering everything from sailing and motorboats to engines, equipment and watersports.
There are also world and UK boat debuts, attraction boats, boating talks and demonstrations.
If you’d rather get involved than simply look, the show has opportunities to get out on the water too, including diving, paddleboarding and Try a Boat experiences.
And once you’ve had enough of looking at boats, The Shipyard has food, drinks and live music throughout the show.
BRINGING THE FAMILY?
The Boat Show isn’t only for serious boating enthusiasts.
There are activities on and off the water, boats to explore, live entertainment and plenty happening throughout the site.
For 2026, children aged 15 and under can attend free, making it much easier to turn the show into a family day out.
If you’re making a weekend of it, there’s plenty more to do around Southampton too.
SeaCity Museum, Solent Sky, Southampton Common and the waterfront are all nearby, while Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World make an easy day out if you’re staying a little longer.
GETTING TO THE BOAT SHOW
Southampton Central is the closest mainline railway station to the Boat Show.
The organisers recommend leaving the station from the Platform 4 side. From there, the show is a short walk away.
You can also use the CityLink bus towards Town Quay, which stops at Westquay close to the main show entrance.
Southampton Central has direct services from London Waterloo and good connections with Winchester, Bournemouth and other destinations across the south.
If you’re staying overnight, you can arrive in Southampton, check into Settle and head into the city without needing to bring a car.
COMING WITH FAMILY OR FRIENDS?
OUR TWO-BEDROOM APARTMENT
If several of you are coming to the Boat Show together, our two-bedroom apartment gives you considerably more space.
It sleeps up to five adults and has two separate bedrooms, two en-suite bathrooms, a private lounge, kitchenette and its own entrance.
That gives everyone somewhere to spread out, without necessarily needing to book several separate hotel rooms.
It works particularly well for families, groups and colleagues staying in Southampton for several days.

If you’re travelling any distance for the Boat Show, stay for a night or two and see a little more of Southampton while you’re here.
Mayflower Park is beside Southampton’s Old Town, where you can explore the medieval walls, Bargate and some of the city’s oldest streets.
Westquay is nearby for shopping, while Ocean Village is a good option for dinner or an evening walk around the marina.
And if you have another day, the New Forest and Winchester are both within easy reach.

Not every trip needs a full apartment. And not everyone wants The Southampton International Boat Show takes place at Mayflower Park, Southampton, SO15 2AS.
Southampton Central is the city’s main railway station, with direct connections from London, Winchester, Bournemouth and other destinations across the south.
If you’re driving, it’s worth checking the Boat Show’s latest travel information before you set off. Roads around the waterfront can be particularly busy during the event and parking arrangements can vary.
Once you’re in Southampton, the city centre and waterfront are relatively compact, so you can explore plenty on foot.
